Sustainable DIY with PET bottle purses

We all know the mantra: reduce, reuse, recycle. It’s a wonderful saying, but not one we that we always live by. For instance, did you know that 80% of plastic bottles are not recycled?

Well, here’s a tutorial to change all that. Not only is it a great way to improve you green reputation, but these little plastic bottle purses also make for great gift boxes, make-up bags, medication carriers, etc.

 You’ll need:
2 x plastic bottles of the same size
Craft knife
Fine-grade sand paper
Zipper
Hot glue gun

Instructions
  • Cut the bottom portion off of your plastic bottle with a box cutter, and use fine-grain sand paper to smooth the rough edges.
  • Stitch or hot glue of a zipper between two cut bottle bottoms.
