  1. Lay your fabric out and fold over one of the long ends by 2. 5cm.
  2. With your scissors make several snips in the fold along the length of the fabric approx. 2.5 cm apart.
  3. Open the fold. You’ll now have several slits to weave your ribbon in an out of.
  4. After the ribbon is woven through all the slits, gather the fabric towards the centre. Take each end of ribbon & loop it back through the last slit and knot. To keep your ribbon ends from fraying you can quickly run the edge over a flame to seal them.

Set sail with Fabric Library’s new Maritime collection

Inspired by the seaside, this charming range of printed cottons provides endless opportunities for all sorts of interiors. The 4 novelty patterns will look great in seaside homes as well as children's bedrooms while the more classic stripes, small patterns and spots are incredibly versatile.

Iconographic designs such as Seashells, Seabirds, Coral and Skipper are wonderfully complemented by others in the collection like the deck chair stripe called Sail Stripe and the fresh and fashionable Seaside Spot. Skipper is undoubtedly the signature design of the collection with its lighthouses and sailing boats scooting across the water. Seashells is full of interest and detail and features delicate seashells strewn on a spotty ground while design Seabirds is soft and gentle in its character and colour palette. With its large scale and flowing stylized flowers, design Coral rambles across the fabric in a relaxed and simple way creating a fresh and contemporary feel which is casual yet chic.

The colour palette is gentle and sophisticated with shades of Mist, Surf, Sand and Mineral while Marine adds a cheerful summery flavour with its crisp blues and whites, and vibrant red accents. The collection is printed on a pure cotton base-cloth and is suitable for use as curtaining, accessories and light upholstery. Let your imagination run amok and create some stylist yet affordable interiors.
